ANTHRACITE COAL

IGBR can deliver anthracite coal of different grades and sizes from our partner anthracite coal miners. Our mining partners for anthracite coal are from the ultra high-grade producing regions of the world.

We manage the entire supply chain for anthracite coal, from the mine gate to the local point of delivery!

We are able to procure anthracite coal from USA, Russia, South Africa and Vietnam, both in bulk hatch vessels as well as packaged in 1-ton bulk bags and loaded into containers for delivery to the port of choice.

Our anthracite coal supplies are assayed by independent assayers at the load port. The entire loading process is overseen by our inspectors.

ABOUT ANTHRACITE COAL

Anthracite coal gives most energy and contributes least towards pollution. It is inherently a high carbon source that is almost made entirely of carbon and is used in the metal smelting and fabrication industries, including steel manufacturing. It is the best and the cleanest type of coal to use that improves the life and efficiencies of smelters, blast furnaces and power plants.

In blast furnaces and smelters, ultra high-grade anthracite coal (egg, stove, chestnut and pea), low in VM, sulphur, alkali and phosphorous can replace a percentage of metallurgical coke, leading to significant annual cost savings of up to 40%.

In sinter plants, anthracite coal low in sulphur and VM can replace breeze coke and petroleum coke.

In recarburizer, high quality anthracite coal can replace coke or synthetic graphite.

In electric arc furnace, anthracite coal is used as injection coal to foam slag. Controlled foam slag improves the coupling behaviour of the arc and prolongs service life of the furnace lining.

IGBR ULTRA HIGH-GRADE ANTHRACITE COAL SPECIFICATION PARAMETERS

Ultra High-Grade Anthracite Coal is the highest quality anthracite available, is exceptionally hard and is almost pure carbon. This is used as a carbon additive in the furnace and can be blended with coke to reduce volatility and increase carbon content to the customers requirement. Fixed carbon is 95% representing the solid combustible residue that remains after a coal particle is heated and the volatile matter is expelled. The fixed-carbon content is over 89% determined by subtracting the percentages of moisture, volatile matter, and ash from the coal.

Note: Modified specification and blended sizes can be customised for longer term contracts.
