Guar Gum is processed powder derived from a crop called guar. It is the ground endosperm of the ground guar seeds. Guar is a drought-resistant crop sown in after the monsoon rainfall in the second half of July to early August and harvested in late October to early November. Too much rain makes the plant leafy, reducing the number of pods, or the number of seeds per pod which affects the size and yield of seeds.

 

Guar seeds are dehusked, milled and screened to obtain guar gum powder. It is produced as a free flowing, pale, off-white colored, coarse to fine ground powder.

IGBR Guar Gum is used in the Oil & Gas industry as additives in fracturing fluids, as well as fluid loss controlling agent.

 

It is used in oil well fracturing, oil well stimulation, and mud drilling as a stabilizer, thickener and suspending agent. It is a natural, fast hydrating dispersible guar gum and is diesel slurriable. It is used as a surfactant, synthetic polymer and deformer ideally suited for all rheological requirements of water-based and brine-based drilling fluids.

 

Our guar gum for oil & gas drilling and fracturing is of size 200 mesh (99% minimum below 200 mesh). The viscosity range is 3 Min – 34-50 CPS @ 0.48% Sol. (2% Kcl).
